With the support of the Jewish Confederation of Ukraine, within the framework of the project “The righteous people of my city”, a film is being shot about the Glagolev family from Kyiv. 9 members of this family have been honored by Yad Vashem with the title of the Righteous among Nations.

Zoia Serhiivna Glagoleva narrates about her forebears. She comes from the legendary noble family of the Glagolev priests from Kyiv. Her grandfather – Father Alexander – was a professor at the Kyiv Theological Academy, an expert on the ancient Jewish faith, including Angelology. Father Alexander was stopping the pogroms in the pre-revolutionary Kyiv and defended the Jews during the blood libel trial of Menahem Mendel Beilis. During World War II, his children rescued Jews in Kyiv from the executions in Babi Yar.

According to Yad Vashem, there are 9 Righteous Among the Nations in the Glagolev family. The 9th part of the documentary series “Word of the Righteous” is devoted to them.

The following organizations are also taking part in the creation of this documentary series: BABYN YAR Holocaust Memorial Center; Genesis Philanthropy Group; Yad Vashem: World Holocaust Center, Jerusalem; Ukrgasbank; Ukr.Net; ICU; XPR communication group.
